During the practical classes, learners will be given valuable insight about what industry needs young employees to know to be successful in the work place.
Fifteen mentoring sessions are planned during the term and VAMCOSA looks forward to working with the school and developing its young people.
On Saturday July 25, VAMCOSA invited the NTIP (National Tooling Initiative Programme) to talk to the learners at Fumana about the NTIP artisan programme and possible careers in tool making. Despite the cold weather, the talk was well attended by Matric learners who were very excited about the programme.
The interactive career overviews were an absolute hit with all learners. The overview laid out the careers, such as Project Management and CNC programming, that are available in the valve industry. For Fumana's use, VAMCOSA provided the school with a copy of the DVD.
The third and fourth terms are jam packed with both mentoring and site visits. VAMCOSA continues to support this initiative and is pleased to see large numbers of learners asking relevant, important questions about their futures.
Thank you to the GED, Fumana Comprehensive, and all VAMCOSA members who are dedicated to finding artisans passionate about their careers who will help build our South Africa.
