Rail Equipment Cluster of South Africa
The Rail Equipment Cluster of South Africa (RECSA) is the latest cluster formed in early 2017 under the auspices of the SACEEC.
RECSA objective is to foster collaboration between manufacturing companies in the rolling stock Capital Equipment Industry in order to grow the sector’s capacity, expertise and export readiness.
RECSA aims to be representative of the full value chain of industry from EPCM’s through to equipment manufacturers, component manufactures, service providers and logistics.
RECSA offers easy access for local and international buyers to local rail equipment manufacturers information and contact details.
- Overcoming the obstacles preventing companies from growing their businesses locally and internationally. This has the strong support of the Gauteng Government and the Department of Trade and Industry.
- Promoting localisation of rolling stock parts, assemblies and maintenance and repairs.
- Promoting exports with support of the SACEEC, the dti and a number of foreign embassies.
- Obtaining large multi-company projects both locally and elsewhere to be executed through the cluster, a number of which have already been identified.
